Learn more about Tara’s past with our FREE guided Tara Cemetery Walk.

Taking place from 2.30pm Wednesday, Thursday and Friday before the festivities begin, come for a half-hour walk through the characters that Tara has been blessed with and who have made Tara what you see today. Locals and visitors alike are welcome to join for an afternoon of storytelling and history.

Your guide will be past Tara Festival President and 5th generation Tara Resident, Linda Petersen who has been working over the years on researching and documenting the history of Tara’s Cemetery up until 1960.

Linda is keen to hear stories from any older ex-Tara residents that attended the Festival, which may unravel a few mysteries about the residents of the cemetery.

Dogs are welcome to join on a lead. BYO chair if you wish to take a seat. 

Tara Cemetery is located across the road from the Campgrounds on the Chinchilla- Tara Road.
